Realtime confidence

Realtime transit data is useful, but it is not always perfectly complete. When vehicle positions, trip updates, and schedule data disagree, the safest product behavior is to explain uncertainty rather than hide it.

Our approach

• prefer the freshest defensible source
• keep historical stops frozen once a trip has passed them
• show schedule-based information when realtime confidence drops

For riders on 12, that means the page should stay understandable even when a feed arrives late.
